FROM OLD TO NEW
Reworking outdated, unworn or inherited jewellery is a fantastic way to preserve sentimental memories while updating pieces to match your personal style. Precious metals can be melted down and existing stones re-set into new designs. Old pieces can be transformed into completely new items like necklaces or bracelets or just remodelled.
Here a client came to see me with rings she no longer enjoyed wearing. While the sapphires and diamonds were of sentimental value, the gold wasn't. The metal from the old rings was sold and new metal was purchased. My client wanted me to design something modern and chunky that would show off her beautiful stones and that she could wear either together or separately. The result is this trio of rings. Handmade in argentium silver with added texture and satin finish to contrast the diamonds and sapphires set in 18ct yellow gold with mirror finish.
